Has Anything Changed?

Hey Man! With unemployment running out in just a few months it's not the best of times right now. Of course I have been looking everyday for some type of job but at 60 when you have to change careers it's not that easy to find something you may not have experience in. Then on top of it you are up against alot of 20 year olds that are out of jobs too. If I can last till early retirement then these low paying jobs will not be that bad since I would be getting retirement also. I am thankful I have all my hair and as an Italian with olive oil running through our veins it keeps us from wrinkleing up so we look a little younger. So on a good day I can still pass for being in my 40's. Directions have now changed so we have to change with it all. Let's see if we can do this. Let's all put a 100 per cent in this changing system, please...

Oh No !

Hey Man!
Now what! I injured myself at work as explained previously so I got disability which was only two thirds of my salary. I was in debt so I went with a company to pay my bills. So being out of work I had them take six hundred dollars each month to pay my bills off. After about eight months of that and almost six thousand dollars the company went out of business and now I have to hope I get maybe half of what I put in back. So now my creditors are at my door just about so I had to go to bankrupcy. Meanwhile I am trying to get my workman's comp case settled. So now they said they will leave my bankrupcy case open since I have a possible settlement on my workman's comp case. But I am left not being able to work on my foot like I used to. So now what does a man do when he tried to do everything right. I need my workman's comp in order to get by for a few months and at 60 years old it's not easy to go find some other type of work. Especially in the economy we have right now. Life can be so scary at times!

Cell Phone Tower?

Hey Man!
There is a group of people that are protesting the construction of a cell phone tower and it's on city owned property. There is a question of how safe it would be living near these cell phone towers. People are saying it's safe but not long ago people also said smoking was safe. So now the residents of Berkley Lakes are completely against the cell Phone tower near their community. Their is a strong feeling that these towers are a cause of cancer when living too close to them. Now don't get me wrong no one wants to give up keeping a cell phone. They could not live without it. But they just want the tower built somewhere else like in some one else's neighborhood. So now the mayor has put together a meeting since there are alot of pros and cons about the cell phone tower. Would you want to live under this cell phone tower?

It could be Pandemic!

Hey Man!
It's the new, brand new swine flu and it has killed as many as 68 people. Yes that's right people. You don't have to be a swine. That may sound silly but I was asked that question before. At least 1000 more people have become sick because of the flu, the swine flu that is. The disease has gone from Mexico and it has reached Texas and California already. They said that the outbreak of the never before seen virus is a very serious situation and has "pandemic potential". But thankfully it is too early to tell if it would become a worldwide outbreak. But on the bad side the situation is evolving quickly. This virus is a mix of human, pig, and bird strains and that is why this is considered a health emergency. The bad thing about all this is that it is so very hard to contain. The CDC and some experts said it is almost impossible to contain this flu. They are screening passengers from Mexico but that doesn't seem to help at this time. One big reason to really worry is that the flu doesn't seem to be killing only the vulnerable infants and the elderly. The Spanish flu which killed at least 40 million people worldwide in 1918-19, also first struck healthy young adults just as this Swine flu is doing. Remember this unlike regular flu, humans don't have natural immunity to a virus that includes animal genes. And how about this, new vaccines can take months to bring into use. So until then we could be defenseless against such a flu. It may sound a little funny but even the Mariachi Musicians are covering their faces with cloths or masks while they wait for business in the Garibaldi Plaza in Mexico City. How would that make you feel if you were looking to get some of the band to play at your party and they were covering their faces from something like the swine flu. Wow!

Turkey Neck!

Hey Man!
As I was on my travels the other day I really thought I passed right by a turkey. I didn't hear the goble goble but it sure did look exactly like a turkey. No one tried to shoot it or anything but you would have sworn that this was a real live turkey. The only thing is that we were at the grocery store and really that's not the place that has turkey's running around. Now if we were in some open fields or out in the country we would have accepted this sighting of a real live turkey. As I took a better look at this would be turkey I realized to my disbelief that it was a woman with a turkey neck. That neck skin was hanging so bad that this became a human turkey. The sight was very displeasing, very. I found out that as skin matures there are some key nutrients that become depleted and this results in a dull, thinning and sagging skin. I needed to look into this since I did not want to turn into a turkey. I have been called a bear before since I was big and maybe a little hairy but not no turkey. So I found out that this can be reversed with something called Expela, a neck firming activator. This has calcium and amino acids, and it is designed to reboost cell metabolism and protein synthesis and rebalance the ion flow. In other words it starts working on the loose skin to stop turning you into a turkey. So you will get a firmer, smoother neckline and jawline, restructuring the skin to eliminate sag and the deep lines from view. Your skin will get visibly firmer, tighter, and smoother in a matter of weeks. Wow! You can take Expela in your own home and it's affordable, scarless, no burning, no doctors, and no recovery time. So now take that good look in the mirror and if you don't hear that goble goble than you may be alright. But if you even think about thanksgiving when you take that look than Expela would be something to try. The results are pretty amazing so check your pharmacy for this new and special medicine that will have you saying, "no more turkey neck for me".

What Now!

Hey Man!
Now I am at that spot of starting some type of new career and when the economy is at it;s worst in many many years. At 61 years old it is a real challenge. Where do you go from here. I am on unemployment trying to get some job, any job where I won't have to be on my legs all day like the hotel business. Like I said before in the hotel business you are sitting about 10% of the time and that good ole 90% you are walking around on your legs. I have now got these special socks that go to your knees and they really give you lots of support when walking. So this invention really helps someone in my condition for sure. I am now hoping that the workmans comp can at least take me to my retirement because then I could get some beginning job with a low pay and with my retirement it will all even out. We will soon see the outcome of this terrible mishap.

Here I am!

Hey Man!
Well now I had the operation and it was so bad that they made my ankle one big joint since it was so bad. But how did it get that bad, I walked on a broken foot for over five months. They wanted to say I had some type of bone disease but I had never had anything ever like that. And by saying that it would also make it look like no one missed any type of diagnosis. I was on disability for the six months that I was given but my foot was still weak. I was also terminated from a job that I had had for over nineteen years. I looked to reapply but someone was already hired for my position. So now I have to apply for positions that I really don't have any type of experience in. At almost 61 years of age I must go into some field that I really don't know. I worked the Hotel business for over 19 and a half years and did good at it too. But my foot at this time can't stand for any amount of hours anymore. It is still swollen but I can walk on it without the pain that I was in before. So now I am too early for retirement but I must find a job or loose it all and at my age I can not afford that.

That's It!

Hey man!
Now after the Podiatrist has told me I have broken joints in the foot I am told that an operation is my next thing I have to do. The doctor is also asking me how that may have happened. At this point I have to think about it. So when I went home I remembered that at work I dropped this heavy piece of metal on my foot and it was heavy too. I remember that when I got home that night I did tell my wife what had happened. When I got to work the day of it fell off the shelf on to my foot and it really hurt at the time but I put it back where it had been and made sure that the manager and some other people had seen what happened. They didn't tell me to go report it like I usually tell people. I always say to people to go right away to report it at human resources. But since I did have the manager and several associates seeing this I felt fine about it. It didn't seem to sweel up at the time so I continued working. Lets see now.

OOPS!

Hey Man!
After going to another Arthritis doctor and she found nothing, I was so grateful that she advised that I go to see this podiatrist, that's the doctor that treats the foot. So I arrive at thisw podiatrist and immediately he takes an x-ray of the top of my foot and comes out and says that I have broken joints in my foot. The broken joints made people possibly think it was something else since it made the ankle swell up so much. When the gout hits you your ankle swells up. That caused alot of confussion to everything. So now this doctor asks me did I have some type of accident or something that may have caused this to happen. He also tells me that I need an operation right away to repair these broken joints. So now I need to let work know that I need to take a leave of absence for this operation especially since I can barely walk at all now. At work at this time I was holding onto the wall the entire night so I wouldn't fall on my face. On my way home after this news I just received I am thinking about how I may have broken my joints on the top of my foot. I know when I come home from work I really don't do anything since I am always so drained. The thought process is running wild.

The Mix Up!

Hey Man!
We are going to take this closer to the point a little quicker for now. On my own I went to the orthopedic doctor so someone could finally x-ray this ankle/foot thing. After going there he sent me to the hospital to get the x-rays and then he put me in a cast, a walking cast so I could still work. Then after going to him he took off the cast and saw that the swelling did not go down. So now he put me in a walking boot. Now I could still work with that on me. It is now getting close to five months working on this ankle/foot thing of mine. It is ashame that it wasn't diagnosed right at the beginning since now it has gotten so much worse then at the start. Now I can barely work at all. When I do come home from work I just sit in the car, which I can do since it's at night when I get home, and I wait till I muster up the strength to walk to the front door and plop myself on the sofa. At work I am now holding onto the wall as I walk around. Most everyone has noticed how bad I am doing and they can't understand what's going on, as I can't either. Finally the orthopedic doctor now wants to test me for a blood disease. All I can say is what is going on here since I've had my blood tested back when the doctor thought I had the gout. What's killing me is when I was young I respected doctors and my mother would just kill me if I ever disagreed with a doctor. That's why I am playing their game I guess. I am at wits end at this point! Where-ever that is!

Scarred or Mad?

Hey Man!
When I arrived back at the doctors after waiting another three weeks, I really wasn't sure what my feelings were. Now the pain had gotten so bad I had to plan all the walking I did since after a certain point I really couldn't do anymore. Every step was so very painful at this point. The boots that I bought and were wearing, I think I even wore a couple times to sleep. They helped maybe 10% but the pain had increased now by another 50% so I was definitely on the loosing end of this battle. Now I was told to go see a Arthritis doctor since my doctor really wasn't getting anywhere with any of his diagnosis and he wasn't asking me so since he said to go see the Arthritis doctor that's where I would go the next week I thought. But to my surprise it would take almost six weeks to get an appointment with him since they were rare in the area. I can't even begin to explain what that feeling was like since three weeks was petrifying, so hearing six weeks made me cold and shiver. And that is no joke so wait I did. But I knew I had to continue to work since I was still running to different doctors trying to find out what is wrong. This time I was very worried if I could make it.

A long Three Weeks!

Hey Man!
It was a very long three weeks but I survived and here I am. The swollen foot has gotten a bit bigger and the pain is alot worse. The doctor said I needed another shot. I asked him if it could be a double this time since I really need something for this pain. So now he needed the nurse to help him carry this big ole needle in the room, so they could pump this serum into my swollen ankle/foot. Then he says try to put on your shoe and if you can't just carry it with you and come back in three weeks but buy a pair of boots to wear. All I could think of was how long this three weeks will be, and I would make sure I bought these boots on the way home. The doctor said by wearing the boots would help relieve the pain so who knows I might sleep with these things on. Still the thought of another three weeks really put a scare into me, since my ankle/foot keeps getting bigger and with it growing so does the pain with every step I take.

Sounds Good to Me!

Hey Man!
So the doctor now says I have the gout, that means he is getting me ready for some shots. This needle he pulled out didn't look like it was going to end in size. It looked like he wanted to heal me with one jab as big as this thing was. He put that needle right into the swollen part of my foot, and it went deep in. I am sure he didn't want to waste any of that serum since that needle went in so deep. He said it was a steroid that he put into my foot, since I do have size 14 now that really worried me. I figured at least maybe stick that in both feet. After he told me that my foot would not grow I was relieved. I was thinking that I would now watch my swollen foot go down but no way. He told me to put my shoes back on, I did not know why I took both shoes off in the first place, so now he would see me in three weeks. My foot barely fits into that shoe so I was there an extra 15 minutes at least, I knew it was long since the nurse was there with another patient already. Every step I took hurt bad at this time and with a job where I am walking at least 80% of the time, it just keeps getting worse. All I could think of was I had to wait three weeks before I could hope for some relief.

Mistaken Identity?

Hey Man!
You know how it is when you go to the doctors, after 30 minutes in the waiting room, you pay some charges, then you go to one of those little rooms to wait again. But at this point you realize that you are alot closer. It may only be a few minutes more but it's seeming like into the hours now. First of all there are no magazines to keep you busy. So then there are all those drawers that you are being tempted to look through. As you're going through these drawers you have now spotted the bandades and still no sounds of the doctor coming. As you are thinking about whether you really will need one before you get home in comes the doctor.
So immediately you are showing him your swollen ankle/foot and before you could say anything he says "Is there any gout in your family?" With a guilty look you tell him that your Mom has the gout with every other week having a real break out. You feel so guilty since the gout supposedly comes from eating rich foods. It was the disease of Kings! So the doctor says "that's it." With that voice of knowlege and you know he's smart when it took him just 2 seconds to diagnose your swollen foot. Now that we know why my ankle/foot is so swollen it's a sure thing the cure is right around the corner, or is it?

International Travel

Hey Man!
Did you know there are thousands of life threatening diseases in the world and they are contracted everytime we travel. You can't prevent yourself from being exposed to these diseases however we can protect ourselves without going to ride in the baggage compartment, and I am sure that it doesn't smell that great back there anyway. Immunizations are one of the best ways to protect yourself since many of these diseases are very dangerous.But...some of these immunizations can take up to 6 weeks to become fully effective so if your trip is a surprise, something unexpected then the immunization would not be wise. At that point make a quick call to the health department and let them know where you are headed and that will help them tell you an alternative to the immunization that would have taken care of everything if your trip was not a surprise! Happy and healthy travels!

It Works!

Hey Man!
It's a joint pill that really works immediately. It's a remarkable new medical break through and it works in 72 hours and it gives you the mobility that you may have lost allowing you to do most anything again. It's Synovial fluid and it's part of what allows young people to be highly active without having sore joints. So now we don't have to sit back and envy them. As the body ages we lose the Synovial fluid that's in our body. This joint pill will soon be available right over the counter at the drug stores. It is called TRIGOSAMINE! So start calling the pharmacies as soon as possible to find the ones that know about it and may already have it. But be warned that when you do find it you probably will be able to pronounce that long T word with ease.

Stings and Bites!

Hey Man!
When the warm weather arrives so do the insects that enjoy to share our living spaces.Wasps and Bees are some of these characters. Don't forget those Spiders too, they love the warmer weather. Some people are caught off guard since these Spiders can bite and some even jump. This jumping spider will follow you with it's big eyes until it has you in it's sight and bam! Now you have a hurtful bite. Their sting has been described as very painful with a terrible sting. It always pays to be cautious and of all things promptly visit the doctor or hospital especially if the reactions are getting worse as time goes by. But if you are having trouble breathing than you need to run to the doctor's or hospital right away. That means things are bad and chances are they will get worse. So please watch out for those jumpers!

Woman need to Know!

Hey Man!
Hormonal imbalances play a large part in mood swings and the feeling of being out of control. We need to keep those hormones regulated in some way. Here's where some of the guys can see why some dates or just any kind of get together doesn't work out too well. Some symptoms that go with Menopause include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, vaginal odor, mood swings, irritability, insomnia, depression, loss of sexual interest, and even hair growth on the face, along with panic attacks, weird dreams, and sometimes urinary tract infections. So when the man is thinking"she doesn't like me as much as she used to". Think again, not to say that couldn't be the reason but man there are a whole bunch more things that can be going on so loosen up fellows.

Not Sleeping at night!

Hey Man!
You know those nights where you are getting up during and all night long just to release a possible drop of urine until the next minute or so. Awful! But it's much worse when you are out in the public traveling around and not knowing the area. Then when you have to go bad, you just don't know what the bathroom may look like. Yikes! Saw Palmetto at Walmart or any Pharmacy will have it really helps alot. But if it is getting bad where that is not helping anymore then it's time for the doctor to help you out. Once you visit him and you get over the noise of him snapping that plastic glove and then you turning your back to him knowing what's coming next. Then as long as he doesn't feel it being too too large then he will send you home with something that could help alot. The nights without getting up alot are great but those scary bathrooms in unchartered neighborhoods are not missed at all any more. So get that thing checked up now!

Isn't it worth it?

Hey Man!
Farrah Fawcett has just been released from a hospital since she had some internal bleeding. She had been diagnosed with anal cancer.
This brings me to the colonoscopy which is the examination of the large colon and of the small bowel with a fiber optic camera on a flexable tube passed thru the anus. It grants the opportunity for a biopsy or removal of any suspected lessions. The colonoscopy can remove polyps as small as one millemeter or less.
Also the colon must be free of solid matter for the test to be performed properly. You are given a liquid that cleans you out and then the day of you only take in a clear liquid. I won't say it feels good but it does not hurt at all. And most of all it is a clear way of preventing colon cancer and why would we reject to something like that?
